What Everyone Should Know About Personal Productivity

As I go throughout my day getting work done it really dawned on me the being productive is like the easiest thing that one could do. Productivity is a task within a task and that’s why most people can’t get the idea of productivity under control.

See when you are doing a job that’s being productive. Now you you have the task of being efficiently productive that’s being doing the most you can do as quick as possible, and this seems to be the part that most people have problems with. As for me personally I think it’s common sense but I guess for some it takes time to learn how to boil water.

To be a success you need to know how work harder and faster than the next person. This involves managing your time wisely and constantly thinking of “the quickest route from point A to point B”, we’ll discuss this later. first I need to talk about time.

Time:

To be productive you must realize that there is only a limited amount of time in each day. And the last time I checked there were 24 measly hours, meaning you have to learn to manage time wisely and accurately in order to get the most work done in the least amount of time. Wealth, Success, and Cash is what we want so that alone should motivate you to work your ass off every second of the day. Look at it like this

“You should never waste

time because you can never

get it back”

It’s always funny when I’m doing something that I dread, time seems to go by slower than a Mr. Rogers Neighborhood episode. But when I’m actually doing something I like time just seems to disappear. This my friends is exactly why you shouldn’t waste time because if you’re doing something you love, say starting a business, writing a research paper, or going on vacation time will work against you because your mind is so freaking into what you’re doing that when you get the chance to peek at a clock, you notice you’re all out of time.

So in order to combat this problem you must utilize your time and make the most of it every chance you get. Im sure there’s plenty of occurrences that you can think where you should have been being productive but instead you were over planning instead of actually implementing and getting the job done. Or you were just down right lazy and that’s the quickest way to failure. Now that’s what I call reverse productivity, it’s where you being productive for a negative outcome.

What can you expect to get out of life if you don’t plan on working extremely hard NOW. To many people just focus on having fun now, they want the wealth, the fame and the hot merchandise but they spend to much time on those thoughts to actually put any effort towards achieving those things. If dreaming could get me richer today I swear I would sleep all day, but sorry people it does not work like that. You have to bust your ass now in order to be set for life. Stay up 15 Min’s later to research more, get up 30 Min’s early to do more promotion, or even skip out on the good times with your friends to get more writing done for your report, bottom line utilize your time now to be successful in the future.

The Quickest route From Point A To Point B

Efficiency is probably the most important part of being productive. If you want to get the most work done you have to find a way to do the most, in the least amount of time. Efficiency as I said is the common sense factor not for over thinking fools that hold high positions in big companies that know nothing about the little man. They only follow the book, but you and me have enough common sense to know that the book gets the job done but it does not help me get from point a to point b in the least amount of time thus lowering my productivity rate. I hope you’re following this!

To be a leader of personal productivity you must have a strategy in place, that allows you to kill two (or more)birds with one stone. Whenever you are doing anything stop and take some time to think of the most efficient method to complete the task.

  • Think about what shortcuts can be made.
  • What process can be cut to save time?
  • What obstacles can be removed?
  • Whats the most cost effective route?
  • How will I benefit from doing it this way? Or that way?
  • What process can be done at the same time to improve time?

This thought process of who, what, where, why, and when will give you more than enough ways to be efficient and productive.

Personal Example: The Right Way

I wanted some buttered toast the other morning. In order to make this toast I needed a toaster, a small plate, some butter (that’s in the fridge), and a butter knife. Ok, now is the time for me to start killing two birds with one stone and find the quickest route from point A to point B. So I thought for awhile (not to long I didn’t want to waste time thinking to much) and this is the strategy that I knew would help me reach my goal.

  1. get the bread and put it in the toaster (the bread is right by the toaster)
  2. now while it’s toasting go and get the knife, plate and butter and return to the toaster
  3. Since I got all my utensils WHILE my bread was toasting I now have extra time to relax( a few seconds count). Or reward myself with by pouring a glass of orange juice, which was not in my original to do list.
  4. now my bread is done I spread the butter on my toast and Im ready to eat
  5. so I walk to the table keeping the knife on my plate to save time from dropping it off, I also carry the butter as well now the process of going back to the toaster area to pickup the butter is cut out, because I put in extra work to carry more than a normal load.
  6. now that im done i walk past the fridge drop off the butter
  7. go straight to the sink and dump my utensils, wash them and Im finished.

Personal Example: The Wrong Way

  1. get the bread, put it in the toaster and wait for my bread to pop up
  2. go get a plate to put the toast on
  3. comeback and put the toast on the plate
  4. got get a knie and some butter
  5. come back and spread the butter on my toast
  6. no time for a reward!!!
  7. I now walk to the table leaving behind all utensils
  8. Im finished eating so I take my plat to the sink and wash it
  9. I return to the toaster area to grab the knife and wash it as well
  10. Now I dry my hands and return the butter to the fridge..whew, Im tired now!

As you can see this is a small example but there is a big difference in the number of steps needed in the inefficient way to making toast. Think out a strategy that will guide you to success quickly as possible.

Self Discipline

I didn’t orignally have this section in this post but I beilieve it’s something that gets me motivated to achieve every day. Self Discipline will help give you the energy and the motivation needed for increased personal productivity. As long as you can stay true to yourself and become a believer in your own process you should be able to reach your goals as quick as possible. If you say one thing and do another that’s not good. make plans and stick to them. Get organized and think about ways to shorten the process and you’ll see your success rise in no time. Bottom line You can set goals but without self discipline you will not achieve anything.

here’s a few examples of great ideas but no self discipline negatively effecting the outcome-

  • I want to lose wait, but I always quit when I get tired.
  • I know school starts at 8:30 but I really want to sleep for 5 more minutes
  • Even though my homework is not done yet Im going to hangout with my friends
  • I know I wanted to promote my business for 4 hours today but theres a sale at Kmart as we speak
  • I know I should be reading VictoryBlogger everyday but Im afraid to learn how to be successful

These are all examples of how having self discipline can benefit you. Whether i’s in school, at home or at work following through with your plans will always help you reach your goals.

“One goal you all should make is to add your favorite VictoryBlogger post’s to your favorite bookmarking and social netowrking site’s so that you can show your appreciation. Also tell others so they to can become successful in life.”

7 Day Success Challenge

Dont count every hour in the day make every hour in the day count! Over the next 7 days I want you to try and do something productive 3-5 hours. If you want to be victorious do something productive every hour. Then jot down the following:

  • how it feels to get work done that would otherwise be on standby.
  • how many out of the usual tasks were you able to get done
  • how can make the use of your time more efficient.

By writing this info down you can go back and look at it for motivation and inspiration. It’ll also be a good guide to and visual aid to help you get things done. By doing this for seven days you should get your self in the habit of natually be more self deicpline thus being my productive without even feeling like you’re working harder. Hopefully this will allow you to get more work down, as you watch time pass you by.
